ProxyHunter Configuration
System/Change Options

Search & Verify Options.
Enter the following settings:
Searching Section: (Left side)
Connection timeout = 10
Verify timeout = 20
Parallel socketes = 20
Verification Section: (Right side)
Connection timeout = 10
Verify timeout = 20
Parellel sockets = 20

Remember the more sockets you use, the more bandwidth, and the more attention you may receive from your ISP!
Also keep in mind that the socket count doubles.
20 Sockets for searching and 20 for verification. 20 + 20 = 40 sockets.
For dial-up use 10-20 sockets.
For cable use 50-100 sockets.
You can try higher settings - but I strongly urge you to be conservative.
A smart move is to be low key. Don't be a hog or you'll find yourself looking for another ISP.
Under LAN or Dial Network:
Uncheck the ping to avoid net congestion box.
Under searching method:
Check the box ping and then connect.
Use these settings:
Ping count = 100.
Repeat count = 1.
Verification Data Options Tab:
This is where many make their mistake.
You need to basically set up a test page for proxyhunter.
Select a url that is fast, reliable and is always online. This is very important!
The first two url's that come to mind are yahoo and google.
They meet the requirements above.
Proxyhunter needs to verify that the proxy is working.
You use the url and the keywords you set for that purpose.
If you use yahoo.com
On their page are words "Local Yahoo!s" or "More Yahoo!"
These words you would enter in the keywords dialog box.
With Google you can try their image search page. http://www.google.com/imghp?hl=en (english version)
You can use this term that is on that page. "The most comprehensive image search on the web"

The server if good, will search yahoo or google for the respective key words.
If these keywords are found the result will be positive.
Hence a working proxy.
Proxy Switch Options:
Uncheck the boxes: Enable proxy switch and Allow others to use my proxy switch.

Other Options tab:
Dial up users check dial-up box.
Enter your dial- up settings.
Search and Verify History: days = 5
Before we can go on a hunt, we must first see if proxyhunter is working properly.
Get a working proxy list.
Save it to your desktop.
Click results link at the top of proxyhunter.
Select import.

Click the desktop icon in the dialog box and then select the proxy list you saved there.
Click the results link and select verify all.
If everything is configured properly proxyhunter should be verifying that proxy list.
You should now see proxies with a result of "good".

Make sure it is a fresh proxy list, with known working proxies.
If your results show all are no good, go back and re-check your settings.
If everything is working to this point. Congratulations! You can verify proxies.
Your mission is almost over.
Now let's go hunting....
Finding your own proxies.
Open Proxyhunter.
Select the Tasks tab.
Bottom left, select add task.
Task type: searching task.

Click next.
Click add.
Add searching IP range.
Range type = start & end range.
Start add = you can use any range you want.
Example:
Let's use this range: 203.0.0.1 - 203.254.254.255
Start would be 203.0.0.1
End would be 203.254.254.255

This setting will enable Proxyhunter to scan that entire range.
This is very important that you enter start and end correctly!
You can use multiple ranges - but it is wise to try one at a time until you are well versed in this program.
You have to learn to walk before you run.
Ckick next.

Ports and Protocols

Click add.
Select single port. Use 8080
Select HTTP.
Click the box: must try.
Click ok.
Then click finish.
Before you click scan, make sure you resolved all firewall issues.
A good way to test is to exit your firewall, click scan to see if Proxyhunter works.
If it does, and it should, then open your firewall and enable your rule assistant.
IMPORTANT: Results will vary on internet connection, location, etc.
