Author's Note: This tutorial is strictly for Opera 7.50 only. Other versions of Opera may be different in terms of where the menus are. The same settings apply to all versions of Opera.

First, download Opera from here.

Install and open Opera.

If you already have a working connection to the Internet, Opera should automatically find and use this connection when you start Opera. No configuration is required. Just start Opera, and Opera will tell your Windows to launch the default connection to the Internet, or use your current connection if one is already present. This applies to all "normal" connections like Modem, ISDN, Cable, DSL, ADSL, LAN etc.

Configure your other settings, and we're ready to start.

Next, you need a proxy to hide your real IP from everyone.

Navigate to Tools > Preferences.

Scroll down to see a Network button.

Click Network.

You will see a button called Proxy Servers.

Click Proxy Servers

A box comes up. There are different types of proxy types that you can use.

Tick which you want, add your proxy according to the Host IP and Port.

Click OK.

Click Apply.

Opera is now configured for using the Internet behind a proxy server!
